Under $50, a monitor arm is a practical way to free up desk space and raise a screen, provided you ask it to do a modest job. The limits at this price are mostly about capacity and hardware, so matching the arm to your monitor's weight and your desk's construction matters more than any single feature.
Start with the desk. A clamp needs a solid rear edge; a hollow-core or thin desktop can dent if a clamp is overtightened, and a grommet base needs a hole through the top. Then check your monitor's weight without its stand against the arm's rating.
The eight mounts below include five single arms and three dual mounts. Seven were under $50 at the time of writing; one dual stand was slightly above and is labeled as such. Our comparison is based on published specifications and included hardware, not hands-on testing.

Our Picks
Best Budget Pick1 of 8
ErGear Single Monitor Arm on Amazon (opens in a new tab)
The ErGear is one of the two least expensive arms in this guide, and it adds two useful touches for the price: a tool-free VESA plate and a built-in cable channel.
Best for
- A light 24- or 27-inch monitor on a solid desk, on the smallest budget.
Skip if
- You don't know your monitor's weight without its stand; the WALI's higher rating leaves more margin.
Why we like it
It is rated for 13- to 34-inch monitors up to 19.8 lb, with a maximum VESA of 100 x 100 mm, which suits many 24- and 27-inch office monitors once the stand is removed. The clamp uses a plastic thumbscrew, so tighten it gradually on a hollow-core or composite desktop.
The WALI costs about the same and carries a higher 26.4 lb rating; choose the ErGear if tool-free setup and cable routing matter more than capacity.
Key dimensions & specs
- Screen size: 13–34"
- Weight capacity: up to 19.8 lb
- VESA: up to 100 x 100 mm, tool-free plate
- Cable management: built-in channel
- Clamp: plastic thumbscrew
Pros
- Tied for the lowest price here
- Tool-free VESA plate
- Built-in cable channel
Cons
- 19.8 lb limit is tight for heavier monitors
- Plastic thumbscrew needs care on thin desktops
- Grommet mounting isn't listed
Most Capacity for the Money2 of 8
WALI Single Monitor Mount on Amazon (opens in a new tab)
The WALI's reason to be here is capacity: at about the same price as the ErGear, it is rated for 26.4 lb, the most of any single arm in this guide.
Best for
- A heavier 27- to 32-inch monitor on a tight budget, or a monitor whose bare weight is uncertain.
Skip if
- Your desk has no clampable edge; the FlowLift or FlowLift Pro includes a grommet base.
Why we like it
That margin is useful if your monitor is on the heavier side or you can't confirm its weight without the stand. WALI lists support for 13- to 34-inch screens, with standard flat screens up to 32 inches, on 75 or 100 mm VESA plates.
Cable management is minimal, and the listing doesn't mention a grommet base, so it needs a clampable desk edge.
Key dimensions & specs
- Screen size: 13–34" (flat screens up to 32")
- Weight capacity: up to 26.4 lb
- VESA: 75 x 75 mm, 100 x 100 mm
Pros
- Highest weight rating among the single arms here
- About the same price as the ErGear
- Standard VESA support
Cons
- Minimal cable management
- No grommet base listed
- Basic clamp hardware
Best for Easy Setup3 of 8
HUANUO FlowLift Pro Monitor Arm on Amazon (opens in a new tab)
The FlowLift Pro is the most flexible single arm here to install: its VESA plate is tool-free, and it ships with both a C-clamp and a grommet base.
Best for
- A first arm for a 24- or 27-inch monitor, especially on a desk where you might need a grommet mount.
Skip if
- Your monitor is near 20 lb; the WALI leaves more margin.
Why we like it
HUANUO describes its MechaSpring mechanism as offering smoother adjustment than basic arms; that is a manufacturer claim rather than a measured result. It is rated for 13- to 32-inch monitors up to 19.8 lb.
That covers many 24- and 27-inch monitors, but not heavy ultrawides. For more weight margin at a lower price, the WALI is rated higher.
Key dimensions & specs
- Screen size: 13–32"
- Weight capacity: up to 19.8 lb
- VESA: tool-free plate
- Mounting: C-clamp or grommet base
- Mechanism: MechaSpring
Pros
- Clamp and grommet bases included
- Tool-free VESA plate
- Still well under $50
Cons
- 19.8 lb ceiling
- Not intended for large ultrawides
- Adjustment feel is a manufacturer claim
Best Compact Arm4 of 8
NB SmooVex Monitor Mount on Amazon (opens in a new tab)
The SmooVex suits a small desk: NB lists a compact base footprint, a mechanical spring mount and VESA 75 and 100 mm support for monitors up to 32 inches.
Best for
- A small desk and a standard monitor, provided you can verify the weight rating.
Skip if
- You can't confirm your monitor's weight against the arm; choose one with a published limit.
Why we like it
Its main weakness is documentation. The listing doesn't state a weight capacity, so check the manufacturer's specifications against your monitor's bare weight before relying on it. Cable management is limited to basic clips.
If you can't confirm the weight rating, the WALI or FlowLift Pro costs about the same and states its limits clearly.
Key dimensions & specs
- Screen size: up to 32"
- VESA: 75 x 75 mm, 100 x 100 mm
- Mechanism: mechanical spring
- Base: compact footprint
- Weight capacity: not stated in the listing
Pros
- Compact base for small desks
- Standard VESA support
- Priced in line with the other budget arms
Cons
- No weight capacity listed
- Basic cable clips
- Not intended for ultrawides
Best Clamp or Grommet Choice5 of 8
HUANUO FlowLift Single Monitor Mount on Amazon (opens in a new tab)
The standard FlowLift covers the same ground as the Pro: 13- to 32-inch monitors, a 19.8 lb maximum, and both clamp and grommet bases, with full tilt, swivel and rotation.
Best for
- A 24- to 32-inch monitor within its weight range on a desk that may need a grommet mount.
Skip if
- The FlowLift Pro is the same price or cheaper; it adds tool-free VESA mounting.
Why we like it
Its listing adds a stated 4.4 lb minimum, which is worth checking if your monitor is very light, since a spring arm can push a monitor below its range upward.
At the time of writing it costs slightly more than the FlowLift Pro, which adds tool-free VESA mounting. Unless you find it cheaper, the Pro is the better fit.
Key dimensions & specs
- Screen size: 13–32"
- Weight capacity: 4.4–19.8 lb
- Mounting: clamp and grommet base
- Adjustment: tilt, swivel, rotation
Pros
- Clamp and grommet bases included
- Full tilt, swivel and rotation
- Stated minimum and maximum weight
Cons
- Costs slightly more than the FlowLift Pro at the time of writing
- No tool-free VESA plate listed
- 19.8 lb ceiling
Best Budget Dual Mount6 of 8
VIVO Dual Monitor Desk Mount on Amazon (opens in a new tab)
The VIVO is the low-cost way to mount two monitors from one base: it holds two screens up to 30 inches and 22 lb each, and includes both a C-clamp and a grommet base.
Best for
- Setting up two monitors up to 30 inches on a budget.
Skip if
- You only use one monitor; a single arm costs less and takes up less space.
Why we like it
The frame is steel, and the 22 lb per-monitor rating is higher than the 19.8 lb per arm on the HUANUO dual mounts. Mounting both screens from one point frees more desk space than two separate stands.
Adjustment is less refined than on the pricier dual mount, and cable management is basic. Check that your desk edge is solid enough for two monitors on a single clamp.
Key dimensions & specs
- Monitors: 2, up to 30" each
- Weight capacity: 22 lb per monitor
- Frame: steel
- Mounting: C-clamp and grommet base
Pros
- Two monitors for a low price
- 22 lb per monitor, the highest among the dual mounts here
- Clamp and grommet bases included
Cons
- Basic cable management
- Less refined adjustment than the HUANUO dual
- Needs a sturdy desk edge for two screens
Best Dual Mount for Easy Setup7 of 8
HUANUO FlowLift Pro Dual Monitor Mount on Amazon (opens in a new tab)
The FlowLift Pro Dual brings the single Pro's tool-free VESA plates to a two-monitor mount, with independent tilt, swivel and rotation on each arm, while staying under $50 at the time of writing.
Best for
- Two 24- or 27-inch monitors where easy mounting and independent adjustment matter.
Skip if
- Your monitors are heavier; the VIVO's 22 lb per-monitor rating leaves more margin.
Why we like it
Each arm is rated for 13- to 32-inch screens up to 19.8 lb, a little lower than the VIVO's 22 lb. The practical advantages are setup and the MechaSpring mechanism, which HUANUO says adjusts more smoothly.
Both arms share one base, so it needs a solid desk edge.
Key dimensions & specs
- Monitors: 2, 13–32" each
- Weight capacity: up to 19.8 lb per arm
- VESA: tool-free plates
- Mechanism: MechaSpring
- Adjustment: independent tilt, swivel, rotation
Pros
- Tool-free VESA plates on both arms
- Independent adjustment per monitor
- Under $50 at the time of writing
Cons
- 19.8 lb per arm, below the VIVO's rating
- Needs a sturdy desk edge
- Priciest of the under-$50 mounts
Above Budget: Dual Stand8 of 8
HUANUO FlowLift Dual Monitor Stand on Amazon (opens in a new tab)
The FlowLift Dual Stand is included as the step just past this guide's budget: at the time of writing it costs slightly more than $50.
Best for
- Buyers who can go slightly over $50 for a dual stand with both mounting options.
Skip if
- You need to stay under $50; the FlowLift Pro Dual or VIVO covers two monitors for less.
Why we like it
It holds two 13- to 32-inch monitors at 4.4 to 19.8 lb per arm, supports VESA 75 and 100 mm, offers full-motion adjustment and includes both a C-clamp and a grommet base.
On paper, its capacity matches the cheaper FlowLift Pro Dual, so it mainly makes sense if you find it at a similar price or prefer its stand design.
Key dimensions & specs
- Monitors: 2, 13–32" each
- Weight capacity: 4.4–19.8 lb per arm
- VESA: 75 x 75 mm, 100 x 100 mm
- Mounting: C-clamp and grommet base
Pros
- Full-motion adjustment on both arms
- Clamp and grommet bases included
- Stated VESA support
Cons
- Above $50 at the time of writing
- Same per-arm capacity as the cheaper Pro Dual
- No tension-adjustment detail in the listing
How We Chose These Monitor Arm Mounts Under $50
Each pick was assessed across 5 criteria weighted for real-world use.
- Price against the budget
- We checked listed prices against $50 at the time of writing and labeled the one mount that was above it.
- Weight capacity
- We compared stated per-arm capacities and flagged arms that don't list one.
- Mounting options
- We noted which mounts include a clamp, a grommet base or both, and the clamp hardware where listed.
- VESA and screen size
- We compared supported VESA patterns and screen-size ranges.
- Setup
- We noted tool-free VESA plates and cable management as listed. We did not measure adjustment smoothness or long-term tension.
What to Look for in a Monitor Arm Mount Under $50
Key buying criteria so you get the right fit the first time.
Check your desk before the arm
A clamp needs a solid, flat rear edge with no rail or drawer frame in the way; a grommet base needs a hole through the desktop. Hollow-core and thin desktops can dent under clamp pressure, so tighten gradually or use a grommet mount where possible.
Use the monitor's weight without its stand
The weight on a monitor box or listing often includes the stand. Look up the monitor-only weight in the manufacturer's specifications and compare it with the arm's rating, leaving some margin.
Match the VESA pattern
Most office monitors use a 75 x 75 mm or 100 x 100 mm pattern. The arms here that list their VESA support top out at 100 x 100 mm, so larger patterns need a different arm or an adapter.
Stay within the weight range
Spring arms are calibrated for a band of weights. A monitor below the range can creep upward; above it, the arm may not hold position. Aim for the middle of the stated range.
Single or dual
A dual mount frees more desk space than two stands and keeps both screens aligned, but both arms share one base, so the desk edge takes the combined load.
How to Choose a Monitor Arm Mount Under $50

|---|---|---|
| Lightest budget, one monitor | ErGear | Tool-free plate and cable channel |

| Small desk | NB SmooVex | Compact base (verify weight rating) |

Single or dual mount
- Single arms
- ErGear, WALI, FlowLift Pro, SmooVex and FlowLift. Simpler and cheaper for a one-screen setup.
- Dual mounts
- VIVO, FlowLift Pro Dual and FlowLift Dual Stand. Check the per-arm rating against both monitors and make sure the desk edge is solid.
When to spend more
- Consider a pricier arm if
- Your monitor is heavier than about 20 to 26 lb without its stand, or you move it many times a day and want an established gas-spring design. See our main monitor arms guide for those options.
- A budget arm is enough if
- Your monitor is within the arm's rating with margin to spare and you mostly set it once.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a monitor arm under $50 good enough?
For a monitor well within the arm's weight rating, on a solid desk, and mostly set in one position, a budget arm is a practical choice. For heavier monitors or frequent adjustment, a pricier arm with a higher rating and more documented mechanism may be the better fit.
Why can a light monitor cause problems on a spring arm?
Spring arms are calibrated for a weight range. A monitor below the minimum can push upward or be hard to keep in position. Check the stated minimum, such as the FlowLift's 4.4 lb, and use the tension adjustment if the arm has one.
Can a monitor arm clamp damage my desk?
It can on hollow-core or thin composite desktops if overtightened. Tighten gradually until the arm stops shifting, or use a grommet base where available.
Are all these mounts under $50?
Seven were under $50 at the time of writing. The HUANUO FlowLift Dual Monitor Stand was slightly above and is labeled accordingly.
Which is the cheapest option with the most capacity?
The ErGear and WALI cost about the same; the WALI is rated for 26.4 lb versus the ErGear's 19.8 lb.
Bottom Line
For one monitor, the WALI is the sensible default under $50 because its 26.4 lb rating leaves the most margin; the ErGear suits a lighter monitor if you want tool-free setup and a cable channel, and the FlowLift Pro is the better fit when your desk needs a grommet mount.
For two monitors, the VIVO has the higher per-monitor rating, while the FlowLift Pro Dual makes installation easier. If your monitor is heavy or moves constantly, it is worth looking beyond this price range.
